Fundamentals of Belly Dance. with
Naj (August 4) (6:00 pm to 7:00) (beginning)
This is a
great course for those getting back into exercise or those wanting a
better understanding of core concepts, resulting in clearer
movement and greater control. You will have lots of fun while
learning the basics of BellyDance "I'm an ex-dancer,
55, with a hip replacement and an old neck injury. I've just begun
studying bellydance in the last couple of months. This is the first
time I've been able to stay with an exercise regime in many years
that a) gets great results b) does not insult any of my old injuries

Beginners Belly

You will learn basic steps
such as hip bumps, isolations, around the world (hip circles), basic
arm and hand movements and rib cage movements. Posture will be
emphasized. You will begin to learn abdominal muscle control, shakes
and shimmies. Zils (finger cymbals) will be taught from your very
first lesson and in every lesson thereafter. Veil will also be
taught after your fourth lesson.

Zil patterns, movements and veil work. Emphasis will be placed on
blending your movements and steps and learning to dance with your
Zils. You will learn layering with shimmies, dancing with Zils
